Malaysian… What is the meaning of freedom ‘Merdeka’ to us?
50 years of independent, where are we heading? Do we really appreciate the freedom we have? Are we preserving our traditional heritage and culture while heading towards modernity and globalization?

Do you still remember that day? The day when our Father of Independence shout proudly ‘Merdeka! Merdeka! Merdeka!’? When Malaysia gets her ‘Merdeka’ freedom with other Malay, Indian, Chinese, Indigenous and others? What did we do with this independence?

Remember what our Father of Independent said:
“All people must feel that there is room for them in our country and that we can all live in peace with one another, provided of course that we respect one another’s rights, and provided, too, that we realized we owe duties to one another for the good and well-being, the progress and happiness of our country, Malaysia.”
Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj – Malaysia First Prime Minister
